Matthew Chong:
Guelph-Humber is known as a commuter school with students having to travel long distances from out of the Rexdale and Etobicoke area.
With these long commutes, some students miss classes, assignments and evaluations.
So how might this affect students’ mental health and stress? Christen Wong takes us there.

Christen Wong:
Third year media studies student Jana David, commutes all the way from Newmarket.
I joined her on the 36 Finch West as it slowly wound down Finch West this morning.

Christen Wong:
On the other side of the region is Phillip Hardeen, a third year media student, who drives from Brampton.

Matthew Chong:
OK, so as you heard in Christen’s piece, some students have to travel for long periods of time — almost 3 hours!
Now we tried to contact Humber about how they are reaching out to students that are dealing with stress.
But after multiple calls and emails, they did not respond to our request for an interview.
That does it for us today. Thanks for listening. Buh bye.
