{"id":11310,"date":"2020-10-13T07:00:30","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T07:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gh360.ca\/?p=11310"},"modified":"2020-10-19T14:13:36","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T14:13:36","slug":"covid-19-has-made-loungewear-the-wardrobe-for-students-in-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gh360.ca\/?p=11310","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 has made loungewear the wardrobe for students in 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"wpsdc-drop-cap\">A<\/span>ccording to Guelph-Humber students, the pandemic has introduced a new fashion trend: loungewear.<\/p>\n<p>Madeleine Raposo, a current student in the media studies program, says she enjoys comfy and cozy fashion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor my loungewear pieces I specifically buy sweatpants and hoodies, I do like the boyfriend oversize style, but I also love crop hoodies,\u201d said Raposo.<\/p>\n<p>She even likes matching her facemask to her outfits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found that I am spending much more money on loungewear but I enjoy wearing more comfortable fabrics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Harmeet Bal, a former Humber College student in the fashion program, stores are increasing their loungewear prices because that\u2019s where they\u2019re making a profit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLoungewear is a small category that is now growing,\u201d said Bal, whose favourite pieces include pajamas and track pant shorts.<\/p>\n<p>Bal says online shopping, even for niche brands, is seeing a boom in sales. Especially since the number of COVID-19 cases are rising and people are staying home again.<\/p>\n<p>My Boyfriend\u2019s Closet is one small GTA online company that&#8217;s experiencing the boom.
