If by chance one week is less busy than another, I try to do more work that is due later in the outline so that nothing piles up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Academic advisor of online and hybrid programs Alyson Green encourages students to check the \u201cRemote Learning Guide\u201d available on CourseLink for those who need motivation or more advice on how to conquer the semester through distance education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alyson further explains what students can expect from the online guide. \u201cThe guide consists of tips to help students prepare for their remote-delivery course, develop effective study habits and expand online communication.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dera Campbell, a second year esthetician spa management student, says online learning does affect her in more ways than one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have way more distractions at home opposed to being on campus but I try to manage by using alarms and an agenda to organize classes and due dates.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As the fall semester is halfway done, seasonal depression is around the corner. This can be an added stressor for students as they continue to complete their work and study for midterms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When regulating, students must remember to stay organized, take necessary breaks, and always remember that any form of self-care will help.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Liquorish insists, \u201ceating healthy, taking vitamins regularly,\u00a0 drinking water and exercising daily are some things more students should take seriously.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Campbell also says she tries to balance her online classes with her personal life as much as possible. \u201cThe easiest way to stay on top of my school work is to complete more than one assignment at a time.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She goes on to explain how her time management tactics have made it easier for her to spend time on extracurricular activities, stress free.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students are reminded to find efficient ways that work for themselves to prevent feeling overwhelmed in the future.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For more information, University of Guelph-Humber has posted tips from students who have previously taken online courses, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.guelphhumber.ca\/fall-covid-info\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.guelphhumber.ca\/fall-covid-info<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which can be accessed by clicking on \u201ccourse delivery\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students\u00a0at Guelph-Humber explain methods they use to self-regulate their online learning experience this semester.
