According to Humber\u2019s athletic director Ray Chateau tournaments like these can be pricey. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s not cheap, we\u2019ll be at least thirty thousand, I would think.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike other championship tournaments this one does not feature a banquet, but Humber will instead provide food trucks for the players after the games.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tournament includes a western Canadian competitor for the first time, as Thompson Rivers University from British Columbia makes its way east to Etobicoke. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chateau agreed to pick up some of Thompson Rivers costs, including local transportation, and accommodations. He said, \u201cI really wanted a west coast team here.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The inclusion of Thompson Rivers ensured a more balanced field with teams from Quebec and Prince Edward Island returning for the third installment of the tournament. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tournament will be run by Humber\u2019s varsity sports operations, headed up by facility coordinator Duaine Bowles and tournament events coordinator, Mallory Lawton. Humber College\u2019s broadcast television and videography program will stream the games online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere\u2019s definitely some added responsibilities as the host obviously, because you\u2019re trying to put on the production not just on the diamond, but behind the scenes and on the ancillary stuff.\u201dsaid head coach Matthew Ferreira.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The tournament, which started in 2016, is unlike other college national championship tournaments, as it is an invitational. This means teams are invited and do not have to qualify to attend.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group of teams is led by the Humber Hawks, fresh off of winning it\u2019s first Ontario College Athletic Association provincial championship last weekend in Oshawa. The Hawks regular season record was 17 wins and three losses, and they are currently on an 14 game winning streak. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other OCAA teams include The Fanshawe Falcons and St. Clair Saints.
