They\u2019re making a comeback, and very soon you\u2019ll see film added to that list.<\/p>\n

With the recent surge of celebs and social media influencers making the grainy photos and oversaturated colours trendy on Instagram, it\u2019s no wonder young people are ditching digital technology and turning towards disposable cameras and SLRs.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But what really sparked this popularity in film again? For Talia Ricci the answer is simple, film never really left.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In her personal photography, however, Ricci finds herself being drawn to film cameras, whether that be SLRs or single-use.<\/p>\n

She explains that she\u2019s much more inclined to reach for one of her many film cameras over her DSLR when hanging with friends, out on a hike with her boyfriend or walking along a beach by herself.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ricci specifically credits the rise of digital technology in smartphones for igniting her recent switch to film.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe identity of being a photographer really changed with smartphones and for me, film was almost a way of rebelling against that,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Over the years she\u2019s collected quite a few film cameras, including an Olympus SLR, a Minolta she picked up from a garage sale and a Lomography point and shoot camera.<\/p>\n
