When you think about creating an artistic masterpiece, your mind might go to putting pencil on paper or illustrating the next Mona Lisa. You probably don’t envision art in the form of culinary creation; however, making your own perfect homemade pizza from scratch will greatly emphasizes your own creative ability.

Many pizza lovers have no idea how to make a pizza from scratch and will instead choose to buy a frozen pizza from the grocery store or order from a pizza restaurant. While these options are mouth-watering, crafting a homemade pizza offers many more benefits.

Homemade pizzas are a fun and cost-effective way to assemble your very own culinary creation. The process of making a store-bought pizza requires an oven and that’s it. Not very fun right? This more expensive option also deprives individuals of mixing and matching ingredients to truly make that pizza feel like their very own.

Customizing your very own homemade pizza is a family-friendly activity that can be enjoyable for someone of any age. Homemade pizzas also allow for someone to manage any dietary restrictions because you know first-hand what is going into every inch of your culinary masterpiece.

Lets get to creating that pizza!

  1. Gather your dough, flower and ingredients that you are going to use on your pizza. For this, I am going to be using pepperoni, and chicken. You can use whatever you wish that you can find in your local store.
  2. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can, I’m using 450 degrees Celcius, but the hotter the better as it can lead to not only a quicker pizza but a tastier pizza. While preheating your oven include your baking tray to heat up as well as it will help cook the bottom better, if you have a pizza stone even better!
  3.  Flour your hands and counter a bit and proceed to stretch the dough to your liking and how it will fit your preferred baking tray, for a more thin pizza stretch it out really thin so some light can see through when you hold it up, for a thicker pizza stretch it out normally as you would.
  4. Once stretched place your sauce, cheese and a preferred topping of choice, noting adding more toppings will be more difficult to cook to make sure the pizza and topping are fully cooked as well in the process. Once completed insert it into your oven.
  5.  Make sure to check the pizza once in a while for its “maintenance check”, as popping bubbles that form, rotating the pizza for a more even cook and switching the pizzas if you are cooking multiple at a time
  6. A normal pizza at 450 degrees celsius takes on average 12-15 minutes to cook normally, but based on what temperature your oven is at and how you like your pizza it can adjust to more or even less.
  7. Once completed to your preference, place on a cooling tray for a bit to not get condensation from the bottom of the pizza, once cooled a bit place on a cutting board and slice into preferred slices
  8. Enjoy!
