Since most people aren’t planning a vacation south during the pandemic, the provincial government has created a tax credit to encourage residents to travel in Ontario to support local businesses.
The tax credit will cover up to 20 per cent of eligible Ontario tourism expenses including hotels.
Here are five places you can stay and swim within a two-hour drive from the University of Guelph-Humber.
Embassy Suites by Hilton, Niagara Falls
This hotel has a view right in front of the falls, giving it a perfect view. It also has a rooftop restaurant and lounge as well as a steakhouse.

If you’re willing to pay a little more, this report has a spa and steam room. It’s just a 15-minute walk to Hidden Valley Highlands where people can enjoy winter activities like skiing and snowboarding.
Blue Mountain Inn, the Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountain Inn is located at the foot of the ski hill in the village. The hotel has a modern cottage look and includes both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Added bonus — you can bring your furry friend.
